Drake Days

It was a rough week at work, but I got a lot of things done, so I didn't have to worry about work things while at home.
I've been going to more physical therapy for my neck and face.
They keep it dark in the room because many of the patients have migraines.  You lay there with a cold pack on the back of your lower head and neck and lay on a hot pack that goes along your back.  I also had a hot pack around my chin and jaw.
Got a toothache fixed Thursday.
I hate having a numb face for so long afterwards.
After that, we quickly ran over to Murray for a couple pic.
It was a weird day because I was half numb on one side of my face, and Taylor had bad lactose sickness.  But the pics turned out cute!

That night we found a hobo spider on Taylor's pillow as we were going to bed...
Nope!  Didn't sleep well.
And on Friday morning little Bubba (Bubbles!) died.  Sad.  But thus is the life of a fishy...Short.

After work on Friday I went down to SoJo to make a Halloween craft with Michelle, Lorien, Vanella, and DeMarie.
My back hurt so bad all last week, so while in SoJo, I picked up an electric stem from my Dad, and   used it right after  I came home from the craft night.
I put it on right when I got home and laid on the floor with my many pillows under and between my legs.

We did another tour of the SLC Cemetery on Saturday.  We found some new saints.
First female doctor in Utah.
Taylor telling stories.

It looked like fall but felt like summer.
Elijah Abel, first African American to receive the priesthood (and directly from Joseph Smith).  He also served missions, became an Elder, and was a Seventy.  His grave was next to N. Eldon Tanner's.  I'm sure they're good friends now.

Found the marker that commemorates the first saint to die in the valley (3 days after reaching it).

We made some pizza with 2 different fake cheeses we found.
Daiya and SoySation
The expensive cheese (left) we were told was best, but it was actually pretty gross.  Yay for the cheaper "cheese" being our favorite!
Carved us some pumpkins Saturday night.

It was my first time actually following a pattern!

Sunday we sprayed for bugs with Seth's help from far away via phone.
And found (Taylor teased) 4 more hobos.

Got our apartment ready for Halloween.
Ghost lights.  I don't know why this pictures keeps turning sideways....spooky!

Window Celebrations!

Drake Daily

Tannin has a new present to keep her exercising during the cold months.
Climbing wall!  With a window.

She loves being able to watch us all the time....she's a stalker like her dad.

She went on her last walk of the year through the leaves with us.
Not quite camouflaged.

Taylor was off all last week and was able to shadow a maxillofacial surgeon.  He loved it!

I only had to go into work for 1.5 days....but it was super stressful.  So that wasn't very fun.  I interviewed some RNs and just had a lot of schedule/managing stuff to get done.

We also had Drake family pictures up in the mountains.  We looked hot.  What can we say?

On Saturday then we worked on our Halloween costumes.
We can't tell you what they are, for surprise purposes, but here are some leaked photos:

Also, when I do my physical therapy exercises for my face, Taylor always makes fun of me...but this one is easy to make fun of:
I'm a Who! (a.k.a, what I would have looked like without braces)...thank you mom and dad!
I need to put a tube in-between my upper lip and teeth for a few minutes every morning and evening.

October- Festivities and a Jigg's Dinner

I started Physical Therapy for my face at the beginning of the month.

I picked Taylor up for a dinner break before a study session.
"Hold my hand, Kels Kels!"
We walked to Subway then I went and sat with him in his Midterm review.  I'm so glad I'm done with college and tests....

Friday night we celebrated Taylor finishing his midterms, and ate out with cheese burgers...and got really sick. Not worth it. And, on the way home we had there was very bad traffic!  We couldn't figure out why....Until we ran smack into it. There was a huge flood because a water main pipe burst by our apartment.  It covered blocks and blocks.
The streets were so flooded we thought we were going to be washed away...
Notice the huge rock in the middle of the road?  It was washed up due to the flood.
On Saturday we ate at Red Lobster with the help of our lovely lactose pills.
Then fed some hungry sheep at Wheeler Farm.
Look how far he reached his head through the gate!

And fed this tree with hugs....At least Taylor likes to be fed with hugs...

And then we ate more lactose pills and chick-fil-a because hey!  It's a long weekend vacation!  And lactose pills are great when they work!

We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving by going to the Natural History Museum.
Rocks and a rock-hard bodied man.
And of course:  Jigg's Dinner!  This was our first time making a REAL Jigg's dinner with "pudding bags."
Wrapping it up!
Boiling in the pot!

Basically you boil everything....the main course and the dessert.
The yummiest blueberry pudding and sauce!

Starting with the green mush and going clockwise:
Pease Pudding, Salt Beef, and the boiled veggies.

Blueberry duff!!!

Unfortunately we were so focused on the boiling we forgot the acorn squash in the oven, until midnight.....

The next day we had leftovers for a picnic at a park, after all my doctor's appointments.

End of September, Start of October

Taylor did all the illustrations for the BioScience Symposium with his research group at the Moran,

We went and walked around for a little while to look at everyone's research.

I had more visits to the TMJ dr.
I'm wearing an appliance he gave me for 3 weeks to see if it helped.
Because it helped, he made me a permanent mouth guard to wear at night.  It looks funky, I know.

We finally found the gravesite for Heber C. Kimball!

And we saw the statue of John Rowe Moyle.

Women's Conference with the Drake women.

LDS Conference dinner with the Justice parents.

Fall walks.

Got my flu shot with my Mom

Went to Gardner Village to start our fall dates.

And...Taylor acted like some witches.

And then we went off to adventure in a corn maze.
