Pioneer Day

I had to work July 24th which is Pioneer Day, so we celebrated the Pioneers and early L.D.S. Church history by visiting the Pioneer Museum on the 25th!

We began with a brunch date to IHOP

The Museum!  This is Taylor's new favorite church history place.

Some hair art...The hair is the early church prophets and apostles including Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, Wilford Woodruff, John Taylor, etc.

And we saw Emma Smith's old spinning wheel from Nauvoo
Taylor is a good boy.....
Not so good boy....
Decidedly naughty boy with a  mischievous grin....but he touched something Joseph Smith touched!...I did too..... hehe.  We made sure no kids saw us though...good examples you know...

Some of the first grand pianos brought across the plains by ox cart....and Taylor posing.

2-headed goat baby
We have searched for this 2-headed goat for many months.  Taylor was so excited to finally find it!

Old time camera

A buggy from Yellowstone!  Thought this was pretty cool since we went to Yellowstone last month!

An old metal bike for Taylor to ride...Talk about this bike hurting your fanny...

And......The cart that Brigham Young was in when he came into the valley and said "This is the place."  Legit.  I didn't know this stuff was still around.

Also, Taylor and I decided when we are older, we will buy/make a grand piano that is old-fashioned like this...we might have to make it since  they are terribly out of tune

Everyone should go to the Pioneer Museum!

July 13th-23rd

Date night at the drive-in movie theater!
We watched Monsters University and Lone Ranger.  Both were really good....course the company was the best!
Eating muddy buddies

We had fun making a card for our friend in Maine together
I was really excited to use the tulle

We also went on a walk around our apartment and found the elephants next to the sidewalk!
We were pretty happy to see the animals with our glasses and sing Animal Crackers by Shirley Temple

We've also had some exciting lightning storms!
Watching through our bedroom window

All our colorful fruit I arranged when cleaning the fridge.  We love the Sprouts farmers market!

I have had to learn how to cook things I normally cook in the oven on the stove in a pan because our oven is so small and only has one rack...sad face.  I also have been changing up my normal recipes and adding different things because Taylor does it all the time and it tastes so good!  This time I put green onions and garlic in my normal mac and cheese recipe I make...turned out great!

And no pictures of this moment....but Taylor asking me how long a permanent marker stays on skin....I start thinking oh no and go find him....he has a permanent marker in his hand ready to draw a mustache on....I drew it for him instead...that was a really funny night.  Also, luxurious robes and cologne go with a mustache of course.

Lover boy and I went to 7 peaks on a date and poor guy got sunburned.  He quickly turned it into an opportunity to flex for me...I'm starting to think he got sunburned on purpose...

Going to 7 peaks!  And Taylor's new haircut
Eating at Big H's after the water park

And sometimes...it's just hilarious to watch a gecko sleep

And I really like when I'm at work and Taylor texts me pictures of him working out....yep....just sayin'....hunky

July 8th-12th or Archie loves Betty

These weeks have been full of giving and getting nice notes and things
Using my cuttlebug a lot for friends
My patient gave me these flowers because she liked my smile...and my nose (haha), but instead of remembering to take them home I forgot them at work.  At least I took a picture!
Coming home to sweet  notes from the husband...he always writes on my dinner napkins.  I love it.
Yummy and healthy grilled dinner from Taylor after I got home from work
Flowers and a note from Taylor after work

Taylor and I have been having fun watching old shows.  We watched Archie and it was funny because I learned that we both loved reading the Archie comics when we were younger and Taylor would think of himself as Archie and me as Betty....silly boy.  Now you know who Archie marries ;)
Taylor said I even wore  my hair like Betty did back in High School

I made my sweet boy some mashed potatoes and chicken....and Taylor had to lick the pot clean because he loves mashed potatoes so much!

My sister visited and we went to 7 peaks.  We rode a three person tube down the slides and flew down them.  It was kinda scarey, but sure fun!

Another Weekend

We celebrated Taylor's older brother getting married the day after July 4th.

We made sure to decorate their car too.

Saturday we went to a play

And got stuck in a torrential rain storm

Sunday we went to church then had Taylor's parents and sister DeMarie over for dinner and dessert

July Fourth

We went to a Jensen family reunion.

Taylor and I were both sick all last week and took turns taking care of each other.  I came home early from work one day and he tucked me into bed after making me crackers and soup.  We also ate lots of peppermint candies wherever we went.

Poor Taylor had to do a long surgery until 4 am before the Fourth of July and I didn't see him for a while so I made sure to write him a note telling me to wake up when he came home.

We spent the Fourth of July celebrating being free by recouping from our illness (we were still sick) and taking a nice walk around Pioneer Park.  They had boats, and Ferris wheels, and a water park, and a bird zoo, and so much more!  We just walked around and had fun.  Then we ate at Smash Burger to get our July 4th burger.

The morning of July Fourth we ate pancakes that I made with my special ingredients...cinnamon and butterscotch chips
See all our peppermint candies in the background?
At night we hiked up to the mountain to see the fireworks across the valley and eat ice cream since it was so hot.
