Different Views

Quite a few things have happened since I blogged last.   I hurt my back so bad I couldn't walk or move for 24 hours and was in extreme pain.  Taylor had to carry me to the bed and comb my hair etc.  He's so nice.  He even made sure to bring me in a colored leaf because I was laying inside all day.

We walked around ComicCon

Drake to Drake; Dragon to Dragon.
Got a nice gym cage for 50% off since our gym pass will be expiring soon.

Enjoyed dinner at the Roueches' home, where John Taylor once hid away and later died.
In front of the foundation where the house stood.

Made more documents for our charting system at work.

Tried to see the aurora borealis past Brigham City.
Nope, just saw darkness.  And Kelsey kept falling asleep.
Tannin tried to see if she could jump out of her cage when we didn't close the door all the way...
"Ha! No more of that hard, invisible barrier!"
"Hmm...that's a long way down..."
"Nevermind. Backing up now.  Not worth the fall."

Taylor thinks he's funny in the little kids' section of the store.
"Nom..nom", says Mr. Hippo, "let's club more."
"I LOOOOVE bacon!"

Tannin conquered the tree.
And then ate some bark....so we took her off.
Got these babies with our credit card benefits.  Yay!
Working out is so much fun when you don't have to constantly grab new weights. With these babies, you can choose to go from 5-52 lbs. on demand, in 2.5 lb increments. Amazing!

Stargazing in the mountains.
Pretty granite cliff with changing trees.
The best thing we saw that evening was the trees and landscape.

We didn't realize it would be a boring, hour-long lecture before star-gazing.
Can we look through the telescopes yet??
It was disappointing because they just aimed the telescopes at stars and it was like just looking up without a telescope...no difference.  We did see andromeda...but it was like a grey fuzzy on a screen of stars.
What Taylor saw.  (Kelsey seriously did not see this....she's bad with focusing.)

What we wish we saw.

Tannin found a new hide with a window view behind our black drawers
Only she fits behind there.  No amount of fat worms would coax her out until she was done with the view.

Drake Family Reunion Labor Day

How many cameras does it take to get a picture of Taylor?
Hmm?  Any guesses?
Answer: Many.
(Shot # 54)
Taylor and his best friend, Tiger.
This is why they're best friends.  Tiger likes to hang upside down, and Taylor likes to do bicep curls.

This was going to be a great picture of Taylor, until his mom and sister photobombed it.

Fire King TayTay!!

We thought these were walking sticks...and after Tay had broken most of them in half for the kiddos we finally found out they were flagpoles.
It's better to ask forgiveness than permission anyway...
No stick is a match for the Fire-king.
Taylor just gets so devilishly happy about roasting marshmallows.

Planning out the Snipe Hunt!

The next day we went to the lake to go paddle boating.

This is the censored version because Mom Drake was there...
After boating, Taylor learned how to carve wood from Uncle Marlin.

And on the way home, at the end of August, the leaves had already started to change in Heber.

We experienced Swiss Days on the way home, and I gotta tell ya: The Swiss must really like cheap varieties of colorful, girly jewelry, because that's all that was there. Thousands of choices.

And Tannin was so happy we came home!!!
P.S.  Tannin is a girl!

For my dad's birthday.

Dinner with my parents for my dad's birthday.

Taylor created a blog to share all his many early LDS stories.
He has over 500 stories, and most of them have rarely been heard before.

I tried painting for my first time

I was trying to be like my Mom and Grandma Yvette

Taylor did more wood burning.

And Taylor learned to carve wood.
