Mormon Trail Camping

We spontaneously decided that we would go camping on the Mormon Trail, so Sunday afternoon we created some yummy tin foil meals with a dessert, and left.

Brownie in an orange!

We got to our campsite around 5:30 at night, set up, and then headed to the lake next to us to try out the new boat we got with some birthday money.

We paddled around/got taken by the tide for about an hour and a half then headed back to camp for our tin foil dinner.

Taylor had so much fun trying to find animals around our campground.

We walked down by the river to try to find some animals....we didn't find any, but something found our trash at 4 am and ate the rest of our chocolate oranges. Mmmm...

Later that night we drank hot cocoa and watched 17 Miracles.

Monday morning we walked the Mormon Trail.  This was Brigham Young's first view of the valley.

Hot Stuff.
Hotter stuff.

Pioneer Day 2014

On Pioneer day we went to the Daughters of Utah Pioneer Museum and took my Mom who's wanted to go for a while, but hasn't had the chance yet.

Mom and her many pictures she takes...

The Eagle is scratching Taylor's head for him.

Then Taylor and I celebrated my French heritage and went to MiMi's Cafe for dinner.

We watched some big fireworks at West Jordan.

Saturday night we went to the free Train concert in SLC with DeMarie and Mom Drake

And here are some tips for the gym:
#1: Always start calm, composed, and pretty...
#2: Shoot for a debonair finish.
And for breaking news this week, Taylor now fits into size Large shirts.
First large shirt: check

Salt Lake Cemetery

We took our branch on a little tour of the SLC Cemetery to celebrate an early pioneer day!
Before the tour, we went to dinner with my Mom.

Our awesome hospital branch.

I love this candid shot of us climbing a hill to get the the next grave.

Taylor sharing a story about a pioneer.

The prophet of God we grew up with.

Visiting Grandma Louine and Grandpa Ken.  Taylor remembered where the grave was so he could take my mom.

And this special moment when Taylor finally found John Tanner's grave.

And someone is sad we didn't take him on the cemetery tour with us....
Hanging on the door.  "Let me out!"

Lizard love

We've been taking Tannin on walks every day with the new lizard leash we got him.

The first time we put the leash on him...this is his look of thorough embarrassment.

Such a tiny speck on the sidewalk!

And he found the best place to run to when little kids come past.....but he's learned you can never escape big kid Taylor...

This is Tannin's cool pose as he goes for a stroll in his leather vest....ehh Fanzi!
Look at that silly hand pose!
And this is Taylor's cool pose ...

Maybe we share the love for lizards so much because we're 8th cousins once removed?

But not that close because Taylor thinks this is organized:
Mmm...no.  But at least he made me yummy zucchini quiche!
But maybe that's just my triple checking^2 charge RN issues coming out...But I feel so cool because I've created so many documents and schedules at work!  I feel so good to have completed so many projects!
