Some Sweet, Some Silly

During the weekend, Taylor and I decided to go watch the meteor shower.  This is Taylor being such a good boyfriend and spreading out a plastic tarp and blankets on the ground so I'm not cold.
And this second picture is funny because it shows how hard it is to get a picture of Taylor not talking or singing.

My parents, Taylor, and I all saw the new Twilight movie and the rest of the night Taylor acted like a vampire.  I deserved it for making him come to the movie with me.  But let's be honest, I liked it.

And of course, we had some ukelele time

Taylor and I went to Gardner Village for the Christmas decorations!

This is Taylor showing me the modeling moves he learned while wearing his Canadian hat.  Oh boy!

Picture in the candy shop at Gardner Village while waiting in line to get fudge!

Taylor found this little quote about surgery, so of course we had to take a picture
Taylor loves surgery
We walked around taking pictures in the mirrors of all the shops.  Taylor can only be serious in picture for so long....

On Sunday, we taught the 14-16 year old girls about CPR.  So we brought along Sammy our bear to demonstrate.
All during the first two hours of church, Taylor held Sammy on his lap like a little baby.  All the young girls in the ward were so smitten.  I know they wanted to do CPR on Taylor just so they could kiss him.  Sorry little girls, that's illegal.  Plus, he's mine.

And of course, Taylor always puts up with me telling him to wash his hands.  Haha, what a great guy!

Firsts

Taylor and I went to his Golden Key dinner and my Mom realized we were matchy-matchy just like my sister likes to do with her husband!  So of course my Mom had to take a picture and send it to Carlie!
Gray and black (This is Taylor and my first matchy-matchy photo!)
Unfortunately, I was sick last week and to make me feel better while I was in orientation, Taylor brought over a little surprise!
A nice note and some kisses and bubbles inside the bag!

The next day was my first day on the floor so the kisses he gave me the night before were a nice little happy snack to eat during my lunch break.

And I got to experience my first real job traffic jam on my way home from work!

Here's a nice note my Mom wrote for me that I woke up to at 4 am to read before heading to work

And later that week I received my first paycheck in the mail!  This is me so happy!

Fondant Fall Cake

I thought I'd write a blog dedicated to the first fondant cake I made with Taylor.

This is what the cake looked like after the fondant got put on:

We made gum paste snowman and leaves to put on top of the cake
We added edible glitter to the leaves and snowman after they hardened over a day to make them sparkle.
Here's a before and after shot of the leaves, one with glitter, the other without
Here's the finished snowman!  He's such a cutie!  Unfortunately, we realized too late that the glitter we used made his buttons run

We used Taylor's mom's machine that cuts gum paste into different shapes.
This is how we cut the bigger leaves out and the cool design on the front of the cake.
Here are some picture of the cake being put together.

We added a hummingbird!

Then we took the butter cream frosting and put it in globs around the base of the cake and added silver sugar balls

And finished!  After 7 hours of labor!  And we didn't even have to make the fondant or gum paste because we used the leftovers his mom had!  It would've taken even longer then!

And I made Taylor take a picture of our cake by all the snow outside!  This is not fall!  This is winter!  That's why we had to add the snowman of course!
