Labor day

We went to Antelope Island for the holiday

The Great Salt Lake is extremely reflective.  You could see birds, clouds, and mountains in the surface of the water

The rocks on Antelope Island were so interesting and had different layers of sandstone and quartz

Buffalo footprints in the salty sand

Walking into Salt Lake

See all those little dots in the water?  Those are dead flies

The water was so clear even up to our knees so that you could see the rippled salt-sand below

You can't see, but the sun made a reflection that cast little diamond like shapes on the bottom of the sand

And it wouldn't be a funny memory without a weird accident.  I was walking into the Salt Lake when the hard sand cracked underneath me and a big chunk went into my foot.  PS salt-sand is very hard and sharp
These little guys are brine shrimp that were plentiful in the water

A coyote on the side of the road

Dinner at a Chinese restaurant after where we ran into Gma and Gpa Drake

Wow! Those were some beautiful pics! I want to go there now! Did you float in the lake? That is so cool you saw a coyote! I have never seen one! Lucky! So fun to see you blogging again! I am so glad your new job is less stressful and you have time to work out, play piano, blog, cook, etc. Love you! Mom

I love your "About Us" pic and poem! So sweet! That is such an adorable pic of you two! You are such a poet too! Love it! By the way, we all need to go to Salt Lake and float! Maybe next summer when Carlie is here! Have a nice day tomorrow! Love you! Mom

Don't forget, "Drake" also means dragon. You may eventually have all your little ducklings in a row, but you will be like the dragon to protect them from any harm. What language is "Drake" anyway?

By the way, ducks mate for life and travel through life together. Dick and Tamra have a pair of ducks that stay in their yard and frequent the canal every year. So sweet!

That would be cool! It's on my bucket list for next summer! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! Love you! Mom
