Tannin wishes all women a happy Mothers Day!
Tannin kept telling Taylor she wanted to make me a worm pie for Mother's Day. So she had Dad supervise her while she made the pie, just for safety precautions.
(She's not allowed to use the oven by herself yet...)
But, despite all the hard work of folding the crust and filling the pie, she still had a hard time waiting for it to be done to eat it.
But, her hard work paid off!!
Her penmanship is also getting very good.
Her signature still needs some work. She can only sign with dad's help, outlining her paw on the card. For a lizard who can make pies and cards, she sure has weird incompetencies...
She even set it up beautifully on Mother's Day to surprise me!
My sweet girl with my sweet little gifts.
Taylor also gave one of his legendary cemetery tours last Saturday, May 7th.
He really loves sharing his knowledge about church history.
This is the grave of Willard Richards, one of the 4 men in Carthage Jail with Joseph right before he was martyred. |
And we always love looking at George Albert Smith's grave. It's so simple and beautiful, especially with the rose elegance.
His testimony about God's children is also really good. |
This is Elijah Abel's grave, who was the first African-American Priesthood holder.
And no cemetery tour is complete without seeing Porter Rockwell, greatest Mormon gunslinger in the West!
Notice the 9mm hollow-point bullet on the grave? |
The cemetery is HUGE. This is from a hill looking down. It seems endless.
And it was drizzling rain. |
One of our favorite desserts is 3-2-1 cake.
Mix:
1) 2/3 cup cake mix (any kind)
2) A little less than 1/2 cup milk
3) Put in microwave for 1 minute 25 seconds.
4) Mix with chocolate chips, or frostings, etc...
YUM!!!!
After the 2/3 cup cake mix and milk is mixed together.
Lemon coconut goodness! |
After it's cooked, we add poppyseed and dark chocolate.
Perfect, hot, delicious cake, in less than 5 minutes.
And we can't forget our moms! We called my Mom on FaceTime and then went to Sunday dinner with Taylor's mom.

Ha ha ha! That was laugh out loud funny! Tannin is so cute! Glad she got her pie too! I enjoyed your Face Time call and the gold leaf rose for Mother's Day. You guys are so thoughtful! We also enjoyed our overnight visit last night. That was fun to see you guys again! Even if we added another travel day to Texas. I am going to try that microwave cake recipe. That sounds yummy! Have fun in California with the Drake family! Love you guys! Mom
