3rd Anniversary

We celebrated out 3rd Anniversary on Thursday by waking up and making breakfast together.
We made our favorite whole wheat oatmeal pancakes with fruit on top and poached eggs.

Then we went to Bountiful to hike Mueller Trail up to Elephant Rock.

We were mostly alone on the trail since it was a weekday.

It was awesome to see the snow on top of the mountain and the wild flowers to the side of the hike!

Made it to Elephant Rock and then ate lunch.

 View of the Salt Lake.

There were also some teepees a previous person had set up that we had fun going into.

After the hike we went to Applebees (Thanks to Oma Yvette and Gpa Jack)
We got boneless chicken wings for an appetizer...Seth would be jealous!

And for dessert we got Jamba Juice!

Taylor's was 1,000 calories...a peanut butter shake...and he downed it in 5 minutes...

Taylor's gift to me was a real rose wrapped in crystal and painted with 24K gold.

And I gave him an awesome French horn mute for graduation and the Anniversary.

Then my parents got their flight to Houston cancelled and called us from their layover in SLC to ask if they could crash the night.
The Ute blanket was Taylor's graduation gift from his parents.
Today Taylor and I went on a hike with his uncle Rob in Millcreek Canyon.
You can see the V of Limestone behind us. And the red sand stone at the top of the peak behind us is actually the same rock that makes up Zions National Park, but only a remnant exists this far North.
Top of the Desolation Trail.  Notice Taylor's haircut I did after our Anniversary celebrations on Thursday.
That slab of rock on the side shows "slickenside", which is polished rock after experiencing stress from a fault.
Group selfie at the top!

That sounds like a fabulous anniversary celebration! Wait until you get to 30 like Dad and me...cruise to Alaska and hike there! I bet you do something like that too! We love our hikes with the beautiful rocks and mountains and flowers...you can keep the snow! That mute is amazing! I am glad you showed me how that works. Very cool! I love Taylor's graduation quilt! That bed you guys made for me was comfy! So glad we got to visit you guys on the way to Texas! Congrats to 3 happy years together! It seems like it has been forever!
