San Francisco Part II

Wednesday August 12th
Taylor wanted to visit America's biggest aquarium:  Monterey Bay Aquarium

Touch pools!
Blue whale in the background.
A school of fish with school teachers.
Jellyfish!
Cannery Row
A sardine factory.  Taylor liked the boats because they were like the fisherman boats in Newfoundland.
We took everyone to a birthday lunch for Dad at La Bahia. Super delicious Mexican food!

On the way to Roseville, we stopped by San Juan Bautista Mission which we found randomly while driving.  It brought back memories of making our missions for the 4th grade art project.

I can't remember what mission I had, but I remember making a bell tower like this.

Road trip to Roseville
Sardines in a car.
Taylor worked on his Secondary Application to the University of Utah for most of the way.
Thats my pillow because I took a nap.
I'm a stalker, and he didn't know I was taking pictures of him.
He finished it that night, though. He works so hard!

Thursday August 13th
We started the morning by visiting our old home on Crystal Hill.
There was even another For Sale sign in the lawn!  It's like we skipped ahead 11 years exactly.

We also visited our old schools (where I told Taylor about my made up Pokemon games with friends, did bar flips, first read Harry Potter, and played leg wars.)

Carlie and I recreating walking to school.

Even had backpacks!
We used to pass through Buljan Park on our way to elementary.

I have lots of good memories playing in this field with friends.

Buljan Park
The swings in Buljan Park I played on.
It was fun to tell stories to Taylor about flying straight up in the air and landing on my stomach on the wood chips.

Walking to Brown Elementary via the crosswalk.
Always reminds my of Kaly and picking purple flowers for the crosswalk lady.

Going to school to get some knowledge!

Grizzly bears!
We had to stand on the bear paws every morning before school.  "No cuts, no butts, no coconuts!"
3rd grade memories.

I loved playing in this green field in 4th and 5th grade.
My old elementary school library.
Reminds me of all the books I read.
And we visited Ms. Hawkes, one of Carlie's and my teachers. This is us waiting in her classroom!

 Finally, some recess!
I must have a good imagination as a kid, because I swear there used to be a tetherball on this pole.

Where I use to pick clovers and dandelions. Also, I was some type of ripped-off Charmander Pokemon.  I remember creating the creatures and drawing them on papers with my friends.  We were cool.

Showing Taylor how to leg wrestle.

Bar flips...no I did not do them again because I am now afraid of heights. :/

This is where my Mom and Dad coached Carlie and I in basketball.  I also learned how to play the "Heart & Soul" duet just by myself on the piano in this gym.

Next stop was Buljan Middle School.
"Who let the dogs out?"
This brings back memories of band concerts and school assemblies with balloons and Mamba chews.

Middle school cafeteria where I learned how to speak Gibberish with my friends.
The Band room where I first learned French Horn.

I'm so strong! This is where I first learned to do a pull-up to pass the Presidential Fitness.

Hurdles and cheerleading on the track.
Taylor got to into elementary living and bullied Seth.  Kids will be kids.

We also visited Oma Yvette and Gpa Jack's home.
Went to the church building we use to attend.
Also we found where Carlie and I did pageants and good manner classes with Patty Princess!

And how did I never realize there were so many big things I did in California on Taylor street??
He was just always in my head.
Then we went to Royer Park where I use to always go to the library and learned to play tennis.

My two favorite things together, Taylor and books:
Seriously!  Everything I loved was on Taylor street!!
Reading Taylor's biography.
The courts my Mom taught us tennis on.

We also had fun driving through Old Roseville.

Then headed up to Lake Folsom where we use to always boat.  Unfortunately, because of the drought, the water was super low.  But Taylor and I had fun finding a lot of pyrite in the soil.
My new Go Fit, gleaming pyrite, and gleaming gold ring.
Seth, Taylor, and I had fun skipping stones.  Mom got a great action shot.
That night we saw the Galleria Mall where I use to hang out and walk with my girl friends.  It's so funny to go back to those places after so many years and so many life changing experiences.

Friday August 14th
We discovered the 1848 Gold Rush in Coloma.
Sutter Mill.
Teepee.
For lunch we had to have New York Pizza with white sauce.  It was the last meal we ate as a family before we moved from Roseville, so it was fitting we ate it as our last meal before we left Roseville as a family again.

We stopped by Fairfield to visit the Jelly Belly Factory.
Who needs jelly beans when you got the real thing??
That night we wandered the Rio Vista River Walk in Suison.
Lighthouse!  On a side note, Taylor deserves kudos for this pic. During this 10-second picture he was bitten by 6 mosquitos, and he stayed real still just for me.
So, this is a fail picture.  Taylor doesn't understand instructions to "make it look like I"m leaning against the lighthouse."  Haha!
Before going to eat, we took a walk to get in our 10k steps.

After our walk, we took Dad to a popular Greek diner called Athenian Grill to celebrate his b-day again.  (Because that's what you do when you got the world's best father.)

Saturday August 15th
We visited Point Bonita before heading to the airport.

Taylor's shirt matches the landscape!

And because I left my backpack (with my wallet in it), up on the hill where we first stopped, I had to run up the big hill with Taylor (since the car couldn't drive up--it was a one way road).
Where I left my backpack for 40 minutes...at least it had a view!
Look at that hill we sprinted up!
Run, Forrest, run!
As we were leaving Point Bonita through the one way tunnel, a car behind us started honking in tune to "Shave and a Haircut."  It was hilarious, so we had to respond: "Two Bits."
