It's been nice now that Taylor is done studying so much. I come home from work with dinner made and ready to eat!
He's also taken on re-vamping our bedroom furniture. He started with our bedside dresser.
It was extremely hard getting off all the paint!
Here he is after 8 hours of sanding...
Where's Tannin's mask?! Call PETA! |
Finally the top all sanded down to the grain!
This trooper even went and saved a life by giving blood! And it was a terrible experience. He got poked twice and there was blood everywhere and a stabbed muscle that almost made him pass out.
Poor baby...if only I was the RN taking his blood.... |
His refurbishing was interrupted by our big Jensen Family Reunion celebrating my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday.
All 140 people and counting. |
Each of the 10 kids did a skit and our family chose to serenade Grandma and Grandpa so they could dance on the church dance floor again (where they met 60 years ago).
It was fun hanging out with Carlie as much as I could too. We went to dinner after I worked on Friday, and then played games with Parker, Lorien, DeMarie, and Cody.
On Monday, we had shrimp and salmon skewers! Say that 5 times fast.
And saw what Tannin would do if she was 30 feet taller...
Jurassic World! |
The three Justice Ladies.
We had fun playing Clue, and the electricity went out too! Good thing the game didn't get more real than that!
Who dunnit?! |
Tuesday we were all able to make it to Chipotle. Chipotle is the best.
As are backpack purse twins!
And that selfie stick!
Had to get a Nothing Bundt Cake to split with Carlie since we use to get them all the time when I lived in Dallas with them.
And Taylor diligently continued the furniture work. He had an awesome idea to use a stencil, but unfortunately our stencil was NOT awesome.
So for the mean time, he just covered it up in black.
So nice compared to the first picture amirite?
Then Taylor conditioned the wood....
And applied stain.
So close to my couch! |
Now it looks real good.
So we celebrated by taking Tannin outside away from the fumes.
Because I don't think lizards like to get high. |
Or maybe they do...
Just kidding, she just likes to be queen of the rock.

Wow!!! That furniture looks awesome!!!! I can't wait to see it in person! Love you!
Great pics of all the fun you guys have had free from studying! Glad we spent so much time with you guys! That was a blast! Have fun camping! Hope we all don't get too hot! We are hiking with Grandma Yvette and Grandpa Jack tomorrow morning at Snowbird, riding the gondola up. Too bad the temps are at record highs. We may need a stretcher to get back home! Ha ha! Hope not! Love you guys! Mom
