This is what the cake looked like after the fondant got put on:
We made gum paste snowman and leaves to put on top of the cake
We added edible glitter to the leaves and snowman after they hardened over a day to make them sparkle. |
Here's a before and after shot of the leaves, one with glitter, the other without |
We used Taylor's mom's machine that cuts gum paste into different shapes.
This is how we cut the bigger leaves out and the cool design on the front of the cake.
Here are some picture of the cake being put together.
We added a hummingbird! |
Then we took the butter cream frosting and put it in globs around the base of the cake and added silver sugar balls
And finished! After 7 hours of labor! And we didn't even have to make the fondant or gum paste because we used the leftovers his mom had! It would've taken even longer then!
And I made Taylor take a picture of our cake by all the snow outside! This is not fall! This is winter! That's why we had to add the snowman of course!

That cake was amazing!
You guys are so creative! What a beautiful centerpiece it made for our Thanksgiving Dinner with Taylor and all the grandparents with our family. I'm impressed! Is there anything you can't do? Wow! Love ya! Mom
